Milk Education are working with a welcoming primary school in Sutton who are looking to appoint a
Phonics Intervention Teaching Assistant from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who has a strong understanding of phonics and enjoys working with small groups to help pupils develop their early reading skills.
The Role
- Deliver targeted phonics interventions to small groups and individual pupils.
- Support pupils who require additional help with early reading and writing.
- Reinforce phonics strategies taught within the classroom.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
- Support pupils with reading and comprehension activities.
- Adapt activities to suit different learning abilities.
- Promote confidence and enthusiasm towards reading.
About You
- Previous experience working within a UK primary school.
- Strong understanding of phonics and early reading.
- Experience delivering interventions is desirable.
- Patient, encouraging and supportive approach.
- Confident working with individuals and small groups.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
