Milk Education are currently recruiting for a

Sports Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming secondary school from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a sports graduate, aspiring PE teacher, sports coach or experienced Cover Supervisor looking to develop their experience within a secondary school environment.

The Role

As a Sports Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students across a range of lessons, with opportunities to support

PE and sports-based activities where appropriate.

You will

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson work and activities
  • Support students with their learning and engagement
  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • Support PE and extracurricular sporting activities where required
  • Promote positive behaviour and high expectations
  • The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who

  • Has a degree or relevant sports qualification
  • Has a genuine passion for sport and working with young people
  • Is confident managing groups of secondary-aged students
  • Has strong communication and behaviour-management skills
  • Is reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable
  • Has previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or sports setting

This role could be particularly suited to a Sports Graduate, Sports Coach, Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor or aspiring PE Teacher.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
