  • Sports Coaches and experienced LSAs to work across secondary schools in

Middlesbrough and the wider Tees Valley , with a range of short-term and long-term opportunities available.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in sport who enjoys working with young people and wants to use their skills to support students both inside and outside of the classroom.

The Role

As a Sports Coach / LSA, you could be supporting students across a range of secondary school settings, including students who may require additional support with their learning, behaviour, confidence or engagement.

Your responsibilities may include

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 or small-group basis
  • Providing classroom and learning support across different subjects
  • Using your sporting background to engage and motivate students
  • Supporting students with behaviour, confidence and emotional regulation
  • Helping students develop positive relationships and teamwork skills
  • Supporting PE lessons and extracurricular sporting activities where required
  • Working alongside teachers and pastoral/SEND teams
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day
  • Helping students develop their confidence, independence and social skills

We Would Love to Hear From You If You Have

  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Experience as a
  • Sports Coach, Sports Graduate, Teaching Assistant, LSA, Youth Worker or similar
  • A passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour confidently and positively
  • Experience supporting students with additional needs is desirable but not essential
  • A proactive, patient and resilient approach

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
