We are seeking an Aspiring Art Therapist to join a school as a Teaching Assistant, working closely with children with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) and SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Using creativity, art, and therapeutic approaches to engage learners
- Helping to raise attainment, confidence, and emotional regulation
- Supporting pupils to develop positive aspirations and self-belief
- Working collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff
The Ideal Candidate:
- A creative graduate (Art, Psychology, Creative Therapies or similar)
- Genuine ambition to pursue a career in art therapy or child mental health
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Passionate about raising attainment and aspirations for vulnerable children
- Experience with SEN, PDA, or SEMH is desirable but not essential
