Learning Confidence Mentor to work within welcoming and supportive Primary Schools, starting in

September .

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for graduates and experienced support staff who are passionate about helping children believe in themselves, overcome challenges and achieve success in the classroom.

As a Learning Confidence Mentor, you’ll work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping to build their self-esteem, resilience and engagement with learning.

You’ll play a key role in encouraging children to develop a positive mindset and the confidence needed to thrive both academically and personally.

This role is particularly suited to individuals considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, SEND, speech and language therapy, social work, counselling or youth work.

  • Your Main Responsibilities
  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 on a one-to-one and small group basis.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children to encourage confidence and engagement.
  • Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop a positive attitude towards education.
  • Support children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to improve academic progress and self-confidence.
  • Promote resilience, independence and positive learning behaviours.
  • Support social, emotional and communication development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral teams.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements

  • Degree obtained within the last five years or relevant experience supporting children and young people.
  • Professional employment references covering the last two years.
  • A genuine passion for helping children develop confidence and achieve success.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, positive and resilient approach.
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Understanding of SEND, Autism, ADHD, SEMH or Speech and Language needs is advantageous.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
