Milk Education is recruiting Creative EYFS Classroom Assistants to work within welcoming Early Years settings and primary schools across Sunderland and South Tyneside. Opportunities are available on a flexible part-time and full-time basis, with long-term and permanent positions also available.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Childcare Practitioners, Nursery Nurses, Early Years Educators and graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience within EYFS environments.
This Creative EYFS Classroom Assistant role is ideal for:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare Practitioners
- Nursery Nurses and Early Years Educators
- EYFS Teaching Assistants
- Graduates interested in education and child development
- Individuals with experience supporting children aged 3–5
- Creative and caring professionals passionate about early learning
The Role
As a Creative EYFS Classroom Assistant, you will support children during a crucial stage of their development, helping them to learn through play, exploration and engaging activities. You will work alongside teachers and Early Years staff to create a positive, stimulating and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting children’s learning through play-based activities
- Assisting with phonics, early literacy and numeracy development
- Encouraging communication, social skills and independence
- Supporting children with personal, social and emotional development
- Working with small groups and individual pupils
- Helping to prepare engaging classroom resources and activities
- Supporting children with additional learning needs where required
- Creating a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children within a nursery, childcare or school setting
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification (desirable)
- A warm, patient and nurturing approach
- A passion for supporting children’s early learning and development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Availability for at least 2 days per week (flexible)
