We're currently recruiting for an Aspiring Primary Teacher to work within welcoming and supportive Primary Schools, starting in September. This exciting opportunity is designed for graduates who are considering a career in teaching and want to gain valuable classroom experience before undertaking teacher training. You'll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff, developing the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for a successful future in education.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 on a one-to-one, small group and whole-class basis.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Deliver targeted interventions in Reading, Writing and Maths.
- Support children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.
- Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive learning behaviours.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Support classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.
- Assist with lesson preparation and classroom resources.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Ideal Background
- We welcome applications from graduates who have completed one of the following degrees within the last five years: Primary Education, BA Education, MA Education, MA Education (SEND and Inclusion), PGCE, Childhood Studies, Early Years Childhood Studies, Psychology, Criminology, Other Education, Child Development or Social Science-related degrees.
Requirements
- Degree obtained within the last five years.
- Professional employment references covering the last two years.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Primary Education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, enthusiastic and adaptable approach.
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
