Secondary Music Teacher

Milk Education is seeking a passionate, creative, and resilient Music Teacher to join a supportive department in a Secondary school in South Yorkshire. The role will involve teaching KS3 and KS4 Music, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that develop students’ musical skills, creativity, and appreciation of music across a range of genres. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Music lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons
- Lead and support performance, composition, and listening activities
- Develop students’ musical skills, confidence, and creativity
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to support learning
- Manage rehearsal spaces, instruments, and classroom resources effectively
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student outcomes
- Uphold the values and standards of Milk Education and our partner schools
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Ability to teach Music at KS3 and KS4
- Strong classroom and practical lesson management skills
- Knowledge of performance, composition, and music technology (where applicable)
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education)
