Milk Education is seeking a knowledgeable, practical, and resilient Health & Social Care and Food/Catering Teacher to join a supportive department in a Secondary school in South Yorkshire. The role will involve teaching KS3 and KS4 Health & Social Care and Food/Catering, delivering engaging theory-based and practical lessons that support students’ understanding of health, wellbeing, nutrition, and care pathways. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Health & Social Care and Food/Catering lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons
- Ensure a safe, well-managed learning environment, adhering to health, safety, and food hygiene requirements
- Promote understanding of health, nutrition, wellbeing, and care-related topics
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to support learning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student outcomes
- Uphold the values and standards of Milk Education and our partner schools
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Ability to teach Health & Social Care and Food/Catering at KS3 and KS4
- Strong classroom and practical lesson management skills
- Sound knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene procedures
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education)
