Milk Education are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in South Yorkshire for a part-time Religious Education Teacher to start in September. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who can bring Religious Education to life, inspiring students to engage with a range of religious, ethical, and philosophical topics. The successful candidate will join a collaborative department where curiosity, respectful discussion, and academic progress are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Develop students’ understanding of world religions, beliefs, ethics, and philosophical thinking
- Encourage respectful discussion, critical thinking, and independent reflection
- Use assessment data to track progress and adapt teaching to meet learner needs
- Promote tolerance, cultural awareness, and mutual respect within the classroom
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student outcomes
- Uphold the values and standards of Milk Education and our partner schools
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialism in Religious Education, with the ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
- Good subject knowledge of major world religions and ethical and philosophical concepts
- Ability to facilitate balanced, respectful classroom discussion on sensitive topics
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education)
