We are looking for a committed and caring SEND Support Assistant to join our Outstanding primary school. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs in a positive and supportive school environment.
About the Role
As a SEND Support Assistant, you will support pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and emotionally. You will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to ensure pupils feel safe, included, and supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Help pupils access the curriculum and classroom activities
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Assist with individual learning plans and targets
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Share feedback on pupil progress with teachers and the SEND team
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with SEND (preferred but not essential)
- A caring, patient, and positive attitude
- Good communication and behaviour management skills
