Milk Education are recruiting for a SEN / Pastoral Support to join a dynamic and inclusive primary/secondary school in the heart of Islington. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate professional who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs, SEMH challenges, and diverse learning backgrounds. The role is perfect for individuals with experience in safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, or working 1:1 with vulnerable children.
This position offers excellent exposure to Education and Training, with opportunities to further develop your skills in behaviour management, positive support strategies, and multi-agency working. What You’ll Be Doing in the Role:
- Delivering structured 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
- Implementing trauma-informed approaches and positive behaviour support strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
- Supporting academic and personal development through tailored interventions and classroom support.
- Maintaining accurate records, liaising with families, and working collaboratively with teaching staff and multi-agency professionals.
Essential Qualifications / Skills:
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, SEMH challenges, or safeguarding concerns.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management, de-escalation, and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach, with a commitment to making a positive impact.
