Milk Education is currently recruiting dedicated and adaptable Secondary Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across a range of secondary schools in Middlesbrough. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work, whether you’re seeking full-time or part-time hours, or short-term placements with the option of longer-term roles.
The Role
As a Secondary LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 11–16 within the classroom. You will work closely with teachers to help pupils engage with learning, providing both academic and emotional support. Roles may involve working one-to-one with students, supporting small groups, or assisting the wider classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with a range of learning needs, including SEN
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Provide one-to-one or small group support where required
- Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Encourage student confidence, independence, and participation
Requirements
- Experience working with young people (school‑based experience desirable but not essential)
- A positive, proactive, and patient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
