MILK Education are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a welcoming and inclusive school in Salford. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Whether you have previous SEND experience or transferable skills from care, support work, youth work, or education, we would love to hear from you.
The Role:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
- Support children with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Support pupils with personal development, social interaction, and independence skills.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school, care, residential, youth work, or support setting.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to individual pupil needs.
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
