We are recruiting for an SEN Learning Support Assistant in Bolton to join a secondary school that is continuing to develop and strengthen its SEN provision. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, psychology graduates, youth workers, support workers, or anyone with a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.

About the Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant in Bolton, you’ll provide tailored support to students on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and within the classroom. You’ll work closely with teachers, the SEND department, and pastoral teams to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally. The school is investing in building a strong and inclusive SEN provision, making this an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing team committed to improving outcomes for students with additional needs.

Your role may include:
  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 with a range of additional needs
  • Working with pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties
  • Delivering interventions and supporting personalised learning plans
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement
  • Building strong relationships with students, staff, and families
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential
  • Based in or commutable to Bolton
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to support students with SEMH and behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive attitude and genuine passion for inclusive education
