SEND Teaching Assistant

Salary: £107.71-£111.81 Location: Rochdale Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only Start Date: ASAP

MILK Education are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a welcoming and inclusive school in Salford.

The Role

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Support children with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support pupils with personal development, social interaction, and independence skills.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school, care, residential, youth work, or support setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to individual pupil needs.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
