Learning & Behaviour Mentor to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs , helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop the skills needed to succeed.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with learning, behavioural, and emotional needs.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to help improve confidence, engagement, and wellbeing.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, self-esteem, and developing positive coping strategies.
- Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and access the curriculum effectively.
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to provide consistent support.
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement and independence.
- Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and wider school activities.
- Act as a positive role model, encouraging resilience, responsibility, and personal development.
- Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, ASD, ADHD, or challenging behaviour is beneficial.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to understand individual needs.
- Confident supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional challenges.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Able to remain calm, consistent, and positive in challenging situations.
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to making a difference.
- Passionate about supporting young people’s learning, wellbeing, and personal growth.
- Graduates looking to gain experience within SEN, psychology, education are encouraged to apply.
