Milk Education are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring and skilled Teaching Assistant to work in one of our partner Primary Schools in Northumberland.
You will need to be flexible, energetic and enthusiastic about working with children who have complex needs and/or Autism. If you are up for a challenge, like to have fun and really want to help make a difference, then Milk Education might have the role for you!
Teaching Assistant responsibilities/duties:

Assist with the planning of learning activities by identifying and preparing resources required to support lesson plans and learning outcomes.

Preparation of materials/equipment (e.g. books, pencils, art supplies, games, AVA equipment), preparing and clearing up activities with the pupils.

Maintaining classroom resources and designated areas.

Supervise individual or small groups of pupils undertaking teacher-led learning activities by coordinating and explaining basic instructions for the activity, adjusting activities within the scope of the lesson plan and learning outcomes in response to pupils’ learning.

Assisting pupil achievement by monitoring learning against learning outcomes, informing the teacher of progress.
Teaching Assistant key accountabilities:

To work with individuals or groups of children, as directed by the class teacher and/or SENCo, to support subjects and learning across the whole curriculum (according to the requirements of the school, this may include the supervision of a classroom for periods of time).

To establish supportive, caring and secure relationships with the child/ children, promoting respect, self-esteem and a positive, inclusive whole school ethos.

To develop knowledge and understanding of specific academic, physical and emotional/behavioural needs of individuals and groups of children and respond to them effectively.

Support class teachers to design, create and produce learning activities, materials and resources to support aspects of the curriculum or particular learning outcomes, and to assist and support the children in using them

To help, support and motivate the children, clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning and behaviour and enabling learning targets and outcomes to be achieved.
