We’re currently recruiting for a PPA Support Teacher to work across welcoming and supportive Primary Schools throughout South Shields, on both short-term and long-term assignments starting in September. Whether you’re an experienced teacher looking for flexibility or an ECT wanting to broaden your experience across different year groups, this is a fantastic opportunity to become a valued member of local school communities.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 during teachers’ PPA time.
  • Create a positive, engaging and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assess pupil progress and provide clear feedback to class teachers.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and curriculum policies.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate UK teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within a Primary School setting.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching across different year groups.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
