Milk Education are recruiting for a professional, organised, and proactive School Business Manager to join a welcoming primary school in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September 2026. You'll be joining a modern, inclusive, and supportive school environment where you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school's business, financial, and operational functions. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact by supporting the leadership team and helping create the best possible environment for pupils and staff.
What You'll Be Doing in the Role:
- Leading the school's financial management, budgeting, and financial planning
- Managing HR administration, recruitment, payroll, and personnel processes
- Overseeing school administration, compliance, and operational procedures
- Supporting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team with strategic planning
- Managing contracts, procurement, and relationships with external suppliers
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, GDPR, and statutory regulations
- Monitoring school income and expenditure while producing financial reports
- Leading and developing administrative support staff
- Supporting premises management and facilities where required
- Contributing to the efficient day-to-day running of the school
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a School Business Manager, School Office Manager, or within school administration
- Experience managing school finances, budgets, and financial systems
- Knowledge of HR processes, payroll, and recruitment within an education setting
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office and school management systems (such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom)
- A proactive approach with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and school compliance requirements
- A genuine commitment to supporting the education sector
