Are you about to complete your Level 2 / 3 Teaching Assistant course, or have you recently qualified? Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Northumberland to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class. This is a full-time, long-term role with an immediate start, ideal for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience and progress their career.
About the Role
- You will support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and work closely with pupils across the classroom, including providing one-to-one support for children with SEND.
- A good understanding of phonics and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of classroom life are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils across the classroom and on a one-to-one basis
- Help keep children engaged and focused throughout the day
- Assist with phonics and early learning activities
- Prepare classroom resources and support daily tasks

- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
What We’re Looking For
- Recently completed (or soon to complete) Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 3 desirable)
- Some experience supporting children, ideally in a school setting
- Interest or experience in supporting children with SEND
- Basic understanding of phonics (training can be provided)
- Patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach
