Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in North Shields to recruit a dedicated Intervention Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Classroom Support Assistant who enjoys delivering targeted interventions and making a real difference to children’s progress.
You’ll work closely with teachers to provide additional support for pupils who need extra help with literacy and numeracy, helping them develop the skills and confidence to thrive in the classroom.
Your Role
As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will
- Deliver engaging literacy and numeracy intervention sessions.
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Help children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual targets.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
- Create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Support pupils across KS1 and KS2 where required.
- We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role.
- A positive, patient and encouraging approach.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Confidence delivering interventions to individuals and small groups.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed.
