Milk Education is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support welcoming secondary schools across Gateshead and the surrounding areas, with roles available from September on a term-time basis.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and SEND teams to provide tailored support for students with a range of additional learning needs. • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Follow school safeguarding, behaviour, and SEND policies at all times.

  • Have experience working with children or young people with additional needs, either in schools or transferable settings such as care, youth work, coaching, or support work.
  • Are patient, compassionate, and resilient.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team.
  • Are committed to supporting every child to achieve their potential.
  • Hold (or are willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
