We're currently hiring for Engagement Mentors to join Primary Schools across North Durham.

Engagement Mentor - Requirements or Skills

  • A real passion for working with children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning
  • Understanding of additional needs and how to support them
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar - or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)

Engagement Mentor - Main Responsibilities

  • Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
  • Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
  • Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies
