We’re currently recruiting for a SEND Support Assistant to join a Primary School in Shiremoor on a long or short-term basis starting in September.

This role is temporary/permanent/temp-to-perm.

Your main responsibilities will include

  • Support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Assist with personal care or mobility needs where required.
  • Support pupils with communication and emotional regulation.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and participation.

Requirements or Skills

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and monitor pupil progress.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally those with SEND.
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
