Pupil Support Assistant Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils within the classroom to access learning activities and achieve their learning goals
  • Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted academic support
  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and participation in lessons
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Help prepare learning resources and classroom activities
  • Promote positive relationships and act as a role model for pupils
  • Provide additional support for pupils with SEND where required

About You

  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Committed to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
  • Previous experience working with children (voluntary or professional)
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are advantageous
  • Graduates, youth workers, support workers and those considering a career in teaching are encouraged to apply
