Milk Education provides Cover Supervisor training to equip you with the confidence, classroom management techniques, and practical skills needed to succeed before stepping into the classroom.
Your main responsibilities will include
- Supervising whole classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
- Creating a calm, positive, and productive learning environment.
- Providing guidance and encouragement to students where appropriate.
- Reporting on lesson outcomes and any behavioural or safeguarding concerns to teaching staff.
- Supporting the wider school community with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Requirements or Skills
- Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, youth work, or similar setting is desirable.
- A degree (in any subject) or equivalent experience working with secondary-aged students.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Confidence leading groups of students independently.
- A positive, adaptable, and proactive approach to working in different school environments.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people’s learning and development.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
