About the Role:

Are you a Psychology Graduate looking to gain valuable experience before pursuing a career as a Clinical Psychologist? Join our team as an SEMH Teaching Assistant in a specialist school that supports pupils with a range of emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. You’ll work alongside therapists, educational psychologists, and SEN specialists, gaining invaluable practical experience in mental health and therapeutic education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and academic support to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Implement individual education and behaviour plans.
  • Support wellbeing and therapeutic interventions.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, Youth & Community Work, or related fields.
  • Non-graduates with relevant experience in youth work, mentoring, or social care are also encouraged to apply.
  • A strong interest in working with young people who are at risk of entering the criminal justice system.

  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Experience (voluntary or paid) with vulnerable young people, SEMH, or youth offending (desirable but not essential—full training provided).
