We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in the Amble area of Northumberland. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is passionate about education and keen to gain hands-on experience working with young children in a nurturing school environment.
You will play an important role in supporting pupils with a range of learning needs to access the curriculum, while also promoting their confidence, wellbeing, and personal development. This opportunity provides valuable experience for those considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, SEN support, or other child-focused professions.
Key responsibilities- You will provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs across the primary age range.
- Working closely with class teachers, you will assist with the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities.
- You will support pupils’ engagement, emotional development, and confidence, helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- The role involves working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals, supporting the monitoring of EHCP targets and pupil progress, and encouraging independence and resilience in learners.
- We welcome applications from recent graduates from all subject backgrounds, with Psychology, Education, English, Maths, or Science being particularly desirable.
- You will have a genuine interest in working with primary-aged children and supporting a wide range of learning needs.
- You will be patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to learning.
- Previous experience working with children, such as tutoring, volunteering, school placements, or youth clubs, is beneficial but not essential.
