Manchester on a day-to-day, short-term, long-term or temp-to-perm basis, starting September 2026 .

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of welcoming and supportive schools , gaining experience across different year groups and settings while maintaining the flexibility to choose when and where you work .

Your main responsibilities will include

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning activities across the curriculum.
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Providing additional support for pupils with SEND and adapting activities to meet individual needs.
  • Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, teachers and wider school staff.
  • Assisting with classroom preparation, organisation and learning resources.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to meet pupils’ individual needs.
  • Upholding safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of all children and young people.

Requirements or Skills

  • Previous experience working with children or young people within an education, care or similar setting.
  • A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A flexible, adaptable and reliable approach to working across different school environments.
  • The ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
  • Confident supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm learning environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
