Milk Education is currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive Secondary School in North Manchester. This opportunity is available from September and is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting students across all secondary subjects. Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant, a graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with transferable experience working with young people, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while making a positive impact on students’ learning and development.

Your Role

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and creative lessons across all secondary subjects
  • Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning and boost progress
  • Encourage student participation, confidence and independence within the classroom
  • Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities
  • Provide additional support for students who require extra guidance with their learning
  • Help promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s policies
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents/carers
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and support student wellbeing

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with young people in a school, childcare, tutoring, coaching or similar setting (desirable)
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting young people’s learning and development
  • Is positive, reliable and enthusiastic
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can work effectively as part of a team
  • Is proactive, flexible and willing to learn
  • Has an understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, or is willing to undertake training
  • Holds a relevant qualification or degree (desirable but not essential)

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
