Salary: £107.71 – £115 per day

Milk Education is seeking confident and caring Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary schools in South & Central Manchester. We are recruiting for a variety of Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant opportunities, including long-term, short-term, flexible, full-time, part-time and permanent roles. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Learning Support Assistants and professionals with a background in supporting children with additional needs.

You’ll work closely with pupils who may require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation, SEMH and social development, helping them to feel confident, engaged and ready to learn. You’ll play an important role in building positive relationships, encouraging independence and supporting pupils to make progress both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and provide consistent support with behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Support pupils to engage positively with learning and develop greater independence
  • Work alongside class teachers and school staff to implement behaviour strategies and support plans
  • Promote a calm, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with behaviour, SEMH, SEND or additional needs
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker or in a similar role
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour using positive and appropriate strategies
  • A calm, patient and consistent approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
