We are looking for a committed Learning Support Assistant to work mainly with Key Stage 1 pupils, supporting their learning, communication, and social development. The role involves both academic support and personal care, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who is patient, caring, and resilient.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with ASD and PMLD in classroom activities and daily routines

Assist with personal care and mobility as required

Use communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton) to support understanding and expression

Create a positive, inclusive learning environment

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to meet individual needs

Encourage independence, social interaction, and engagement in learning

Person Specification

Experience working with children, ideally in an SEN setting

Patience, empathy, and a caring nature

Ability to work well in a team and take direction from teaching staff

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

Knowledge of strategies for supporting children with ASD and PMLD
