Emotionally based school avoidance is one of the biggest pressures hitting North London schools right now. SENCOs are stretched, caseloads are growing and schools are actively looking for experienced support staff who understand it.

If you’ve worked with young people presenting with anxiety, school refusal, EBSA or related SEMH difficulties — in school, in the community or in a clinical setting — we want to talk.

The work:

  • Reintegration support, graduated return to school programmes and in-class emotional support
  • Building consistent 1:1 relationships with young people experiencing high anxiety
  • Liaising with families, CAMHS, SENCOs and pastoral teams

What you bring:

  • Experience with SEMH, EBSA, anxiety or trauma presentations
  • Understanding of person-centred, low-demand and therapeutic approaches
  • Ability to hold boundaries calmly and communicate effectively with families
