We are currently recruiting experienced High-Complexity SEN Teaching Assistants for day-to-day agency work across a range of specialist and mainstream settings. This role involves supporting pupils with severe and complex special educational needs, often on a 1:1 basis, and requires flexibility, resilience, and confidence in unfamiliar environments. This is an ideal opportunity for SEN professionals who are adaptable and committed to making an immediate, positive impact.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with high and complex SEN
  • Support children with autism, learning difficulties, SEMH, sensory needs, and/or physical or medical needs
  • Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour support, and personal care where required
  • Follow EHCPs, behaviour plans, and risk assessments set by the school
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN teams
  • Maintain a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment
  • Adapt quickly to different school settings and routines

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience supporting pupils with complex SEN needs
  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour
  • Ability to work flexibly on a day-to-day supply basis
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Desirable

  • SEN-related qualifications (Level 2/3 or equivalent)
  • Training in Team Teach, MAPA, PRICE, or similar
  • Experience in special schools, SEN units, or PRUs
