We are currently recruiting experienced High-Complexity SEN Teaching Assistants for day-to-day agency work across a range of specialist and mainstream settings. This role involves supporting pupils with severe and complex special educational needs, often on a 1:1 basis, and requires flexibility, resilience, and confidence in unfamiliar environments. This is an ideal opportunity for SEN professionals who are adaptable and committed to making an immediate, positive impact.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with high and complex SEN
- Support children with autism, learning difficulties, SEMH, sensory needs, and/or physical or medical needs
- Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour support, and personal care where required
- Follow EHCPs, behaviour plans, and risk assessments set by the school
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN teams
- Maintain a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment
- Adapt quickly to different school settings and routines
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience supporting pupils with complex SEN needs
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour
- Ability to work flexibly on a day-to-day supply basis
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Desirable
- SEN-related qualifications (Level 2/3 or equivalent)
- Training in Team Teach, MAPA, PRICE, or similar
- Experience in special schools, SEN units, or PRUs
