Milk Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets from September 2026 until July 2027 on a temporary agency contract. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children to overcome behavioural barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to provide targeted support for pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional guidance throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
  • Supporting pupils to remain engaged and focused during lessons
  • Implementing behaviour support strategies in line with school policies
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage positive outcomes
  • Working alongside teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress, engagement, and behaviour
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Have previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs
  • Be confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Be patient, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils to succeed
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a wider support team
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, or additional needs (desirable)
