We’re currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to join a secondary school in Hackney on a long-term basis starting in September. This role is temp-to-perm.

You’ll be joining a school that genuinely invests in its pupils, with a strong focus on consistency, respect and positive behaviour support. It’s a great fit for someone calm under pressure who wants to make a real difference to pupils who need it most.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • De-escalating challenging behaviour and helping pupils regulate in the moment
  • Working with teaching staff to implement individual behaviour plans
  • Building consistent, trusted relationships that help pupils stay engaged in school

Requirements or Skills

  • Recent experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs, ideally in a school setting
  • Calm, resilient and confident when managing challenging situations
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Comfortable following behaviour management plans and working closely with the wider pastoral team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
