We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Primary Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and supportive primary school in Liverpool – L6. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing across the primary age range. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Provide additional support for pupils with varying educational needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and learning activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support the school’s safeguarding policies.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support pupils during break times, educational visits, and school activities where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school.
  • Good understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting children.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Requirements

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Experience delivering intervention programmes in literacy and numeracy.
  • First Aid qualification.
