We are seeking an experienced Sports Coach / HLTA to join our specialist secondary SEMH provision in South Liverpool. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about using sport, physical activity, and positive relationships to support young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering PE and sports sessions that engage and motivate students with SEMH needs
  • Supporting learning in the classroom as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Leading small-group interventions focused on physical wellbeing, teamwork, and emotional regulation
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies
  • Contributing to behaviour support plans and personalised learning approaches

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience working in a secondary SEMH or alternative provision
  • Experience delivering sports coaching, PE, or physical activity programmes
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
