We are seeking a resilient and proactive SEMH Support Assistant to work with KS3 students in a Pupil Referral Unit. This role requires strong behaviour management and intervention experience, supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs to re-engage with learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent support to KS3 pupils with SEMH needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.
- Implement behaviour strategies and targeted interventions to promote positive outcomes.
- Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to adapt approaches for individual needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage resilience, confidence, and progress.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Behaviour management experience in PRU, SEMH, or specialist settings.
- Intervention experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and families.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
