Milk Education Liverpool is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Learning Support Assistant to support students with additional needs in one of our welcoming secondary schools across Merseyside. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and helping young people achieve their full potential.

About the Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require extra support in their learning. You will help to create a positive, safe, and nurturing environment where students can thrive both academically and emotionally. Your role may include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small-group support
  • Assisting with learning activities set by the class teacher
  • Supporting students with SEND needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and more
  • Helping to maintain an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and emotional resilience

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Experience supporting young people (school-based or transferable)
  • A caring, patient and positive approach
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills
  • An understanding of SEN needs and strategies (desirable but not essential)
  • The flexibility to support a range of pupils and abilities

Candidates from backgrounds such as youth work, care, coaching, residential support, psychology, or social work are also encouraged to apply.
