Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Merseyside to recruit a Design & Technology Teacher for a September start. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate DT graduate, aspiring teacher, or experienced Design & Technology Teacher with strong knowledge of product design, engineering, resistant materials, graphics, food technology, or construction who is keen to inspire students, build confidence, and support academic achievement across KS3 and KS4.
This role is open to both recent graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience and experienced teachers seeking their next opportunity within secondary education. The Role as a Design & Technology Teacher:
- Deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support students in developing creativity, technical ability, and design-thinking skills
- Prepare pupils for assessments, examinations, and GCSE coursework
- Adapt lessons and practical activities to meet individual learning needs
- Encourage participation and positive behaviour through engaging teaching strategies
- Track student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Build positive relationships to motivate and inspire learners
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop/classroom environment in line with health and safety regulations
The Ideal Candidate as a Design & Technology Teacher:
- A degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, Engineering, Construction, Graphics, Food Technology, or a related subject, or previous experience teaching DT
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Design & Technology
- Experience teaching or working with secondary-aged students is desirable
- Open to both recent graduates and experienced teachers
- Confident, adaptable, and engaging communication style
- Passion for education and supporting young people
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
