We are recruiting for a Year 6 Teacher for a Primary School in Leigh (WN7) to work on a temporary, long-term basis starting immediately! The Year 6 Teacher role is to start September to December 2026. This role is working 5 x full days per week, Monday to Friday 08:30 am- 16:00 pm. There are 28 children in the class and one full-time TA is working on a one to one basis with an SEND child.

The school would like someone who has previous KS2 teaching experience and strong behaviour management skills.

Your role & responsibilities:

  • Teaching the children in class, ensuring they complete their work
  • Guiding students through the curriculum, marking work, setting homework tasks
  • Managing behaviour
  • Upholding the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons

Non-negotiables:

  • You must have relevant experience teaching pupils
  • Hold QTS
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Be passionate and understanding
  • Have confidence in managing classes of pupils
  • Excellent organisational skills to keep on top of marking and lesson planning
  • Good communication skills
