Milk Education is partnering with a specialist SEND school in Leeds to recruit dedicated SEND Support Workers who want to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). This role is perfect for individuals who are patient, caring, and passionate about helping children feel safe, understood, and included in their learning. Pupils may be non-verbal, have physical disabilities, or require high levels of personalised support, so a calm, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils aged 5–19 with PMLD
  • Assist with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Support emotional wellbeing, communication, and social development
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
  • Provide personal care support where required, including Moving & Handling, Toileting, PEG Feeding (training provided)
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

Person Specification:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND needs
  • Previous experience providing personal care is advantageous
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Patient, caring, and non-judgemental
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, or willingness to apply
