Join supportive and welcoming secondary schools across Leeds and Wakefield, teaching students aged 11–18 and helping them develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music. These opportunities are ideal for ECTs and experienced teachers seeking long-term placements with the potential to become permanent roles.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Music lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
  • Teach a broad and balanced music curriculum including performance, composition, listening skills, and music theory.
  • Support students in developing practical skills through instrumental work, vocal performance, and music technology where applicable.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and examination specifications.
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, and participation in classroom and extracurricular music activities.
  • Work collaboratively with department staff to support student progress and attainment.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
  • ECTs and experienced Music Teachers welcome to apply.
  • Teachers with experience delivering Music in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and inspire learners of all abilities.
  • Passionate educators committed to nurturing creativity and student confidence through music.

What this role offers:

  • Pay: ECTs / Early Career Teachers: £168.80 – £178.58 per day
  • Main Pay Scale (M1–M6): £168.80 – £232.58 per day
  • Upper Pay Scale (UPS): £243.45 – £261.79 per day
  • Pay rates dependent on experience, qualifications, and assignment responsibilities.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am – 3:30 pm
  • September starts available
  • Long-term placements & temp-to-perm opportunities
  • Opportunity to teach in supportive and creative secondary schools.
  • Potential for permanent teaching opportunities within partner schools.
