Weβre currently recruiting for a Music Graduate Teaching Assistant to join supportive primary and secondary schools across Leeds on a long or short-term basis, with flexible start dates available. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups across the classroom
- Using music, rhythm and creative activities to engage pupils in learning
- Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Helping deliver interventions and catch-up sessions where required
- Supporting pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH
- Encouraging confidence, communication, self-expression and positive relationships
- Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining an inclusive classroom environment
Requirements or Skills:
- A degree in Music, Music Performance, Music Production or a related subject
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative, enthusiastic and confident when working with groups
- Patient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships
- Comfortable taking direction from teachers and working as part of a wider school team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
