What does an MFL Teacher do?

• Plan and deliver engaging MFL lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Teach French, Spanish, German, or another modern foreign language depending on your specialism
• Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
• Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote positive learning attitudes
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support development
• Inspire students to develop an appreciation of different languages, cultures, and global perspectives
• Build positive relationships with students and encourage a genuine interest in language learning
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider MFL department and school community

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience
• A degree in a modern foreign language or a related subject
• Strong subject knowledge in French, Spanish, German, or another modern foreign language
• Experience teaching MFL at secondary level
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• A passion for inspiring and motivating young people
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• ECTs are welcome to apply!
