Milk Education is working with a range of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Leeds who are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join their teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HLTA who enjoys supporting teaching and learning, delivering interventions, and leading whole-class lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

The Role

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and confidently cover classes when required
  • Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to raise pupil attainment
  • Work alongside teachers to plan, prepare, and adapt learning activities
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEN
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain an engaging learning environment
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times

Who We're Looking For

  • HLTA Status or an equivalent qualification
  • Recent experience working within a primary school
  • Confidence delivering lessons across different year groups
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting pupils and staff
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential
