What does an English Teacher do?
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teach English Language, English Literature, or both depending on your specialism
Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote positive learning attitudes
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support development
Inspire students to develop their reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
Build positive relationships with students and encourage a genuine interest in English
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider English department and school community

What we're looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience
A degree in English or a related subject
Strong subject knowledge across English Language and/or English Literature
Experience teaching English at secondary level
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A passion for inspiring and motivating young people
The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
