What you’ll do:

  • Deliver engaging and practical Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
  • Teach and inspire students through hands‑on learning, creativity, and technical skill development.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Support students to achieve strong outcomes while maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with DT departments and wider school staff to support student progress and engagement.
  • Promote health & safety standards within workshops and practical classroom settings.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
  • ECTs and experienced DT Teachers welcome to apply.
  • Specialists in Design Technology, Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, Food Technology, or Construction.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of all abilities.
  • Passionate educators committed to helping young people succeed.

What this role offers:

  • Pay: ECTs / Early Career Teachers: £168.80 – £178.58 per day Main Pay Scale (M1–M6): £168.80 – £232.58 per day Upper Pay Scale (UPS): £243.45 – £261.79 per day (Pay rates are dependent on experience, qualifications, and assignment responsibilities.)
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am – 3:30 pm
  • September 2026 starts available Long‑term placements & temp‑to‑perm opportunities
  • Opportunity to gain experience across supportive secondary settings.
  • Potential for permanent teaching opportunities within partner schools.
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant.
